International Jewellery London (IJL) strengthens management team

LONDON, January 18, 2009 – Reed Exhibitions have announced a number of promotions and appointments to the management team in the lead-up to International Jewellery London (IJL) 2009, which will take place from 6-9 September.

Chris Hartley, previously the IJL Event Director, has been promoted to Group Event Director. His responsibilities will now not only include IJL, but also the day to day running of Infosecurity Europe, Europe’s leading information security event. Chris will continue to report to Leon Clifford, Managing Director of Reed Exhibitions’ UK Creative, Business and Technology (CBT) Division.

Syreeta Tranfield

Working closely with Chris, Syreeta Tranfield has been promoted from IJL’s Marketing Manager to Exhibition Manager for the Show.

Syreeta, who has worked for Reed Exhibitions for over 10 years on some of the company’s flagship events, including interior design exhibition, 100% Design, and the National Incentive Show, joined the IJL team in 2005.

During this time, Syreeta has played a crucial role in the repositioning and development of IJL.

This has included introducing a number of acclaimed innovations and features, including the recent new ‘creative’ and the strengthened keynote seminar programme offering top level discussion and education.

Leon Clifford comments: “These promotions reflect IJL’s success and prominence as the key event for the jewellery sector and the Show’s ability to attract the highest calibre of management. This is a vital factor in ensuring that the event continues to develop and thrive in the current economic environment”.

Sarah Hicks becomes IJL’s new Marketing Manager. Sarah, who has worked for Reed for 15 years, brings a depth of marketing experience to IJL.

Her most recent role has been on London Book Fair, where she was responsible for a number of successful innovations, such as the creation of multi-channel marketing campaigns designed to drive the growth and reputation of the event.

Sarah will be supported by Julia Paynter who joins the team as Marketing Executive. Julia, who brings valuable experience in a number of key areas such as event organisation, website management and direct marketing, will be assisting with the execution of the exhibitor and visitor campaigns.
