 Strong retail support for Domino’s British-made semi-set mounts
  












  
 
BIRMINGHAM, England, August 2,2017 - Domino has received tremendous feedback from stockists following the recent introduction of semi-set ring mounts to their 2017 Diamond Ring Mount (DRM) Collection.  The offering will be produced, for the first-time, at their in-house manufacturing facility in Birmingham.

 
Over recent months the company, which was recently voted ‘Jewellery Supplier of the Year’ in the UK Jewellery Awards, has invested heavily in up-skilling its workforce, teaching the intricate micro-setting techniques, that many of these designs require, to its diamond-setting team.  As a result of this investment the company has been able to move this element of its production back to the UK so that 100% of its popular Diamond Ring Mount Collection is now made in-house.

The move, as Andrew Sollitt, Domino’s Sales and Marketing Director, explains has introduced a number of benefits. 

“Not only has this reduced the lead-time of our semi-set designs from 25 days to just 15, but I am truly delighted to say that we are now able to offer our stockists a reduction of around 15% in price on our previous semi-set mount offering,” he commented.

 
Another advantage of the move to full in-house production is that UK platinum is harder than its Far Eastern equivalent and Domino’s semi-set mounts will now – like the rest of this collection - have a hardness reading on the Vickers scale of 135 as opposed to 60 for goods produced overseas.

The semi-set collection includes everything from small diamond details on solitaires and diamond-set shoulders through to a range of popular halo-designs.  All pieces are available not simply in platinum but also in 18ct white, yellow and rose gold. Furthermore, many designs include two-part mounts, allowing the consumer to customise their choice ring with bi-metal options.

Pieces are available either semi-set ready to receive the retailer’s central stones, or can be supplied as a fully finished piece set with the retailer’s choice of GVS or HSi diamonds.  Domino also provides a full setting service with the option to complete a piece with a retailer’s own stones.

 
“It is a great tribute to our manufacturing team that Domino is now able to offer this important service to customers. We know that there is currently tremendous consumer appetite for British-made product and we are delighted that this aspect of our production process has joined the rest of our ring mount offering and our highly-successful Wedding Ring range in providing products proudly created and crafted in Birmingham,” Andrew Sollitt said.

The entire DRM Collection is backed with a consumer-facing catalogue complete with contemporary, lifestyle and product images designed to appeal to a fashion-conscious Millennial audience.  It is available now from Domino’s sales team and will be shown in full at the company’s stand at International Jewellery London (IJL) in September (stand D60).
