The Israel Diamond Institute promotes Orna Chait to CIO


RAMAT GAN, Israel, March 26, 2009 - The Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies (IDI) announced that Orna Chait has been promoted to Deputy Managing Director and Chief Information Officer (CIO).

In this capacity, Ms. Chait will be responsible for Information Technology and online services of the IDI Group of Companies.
IDI said Ms. Chait’s promotion was in keeping with the Group’s policy of developing IT, as well as focusing efforts and resources on the Internet in order to meet challenges posed by future markets.
IDI Chairman Moti Ganz said, “The global diamond industry has undergone a revolution in recent years and is increasingly turning to IT and trade through the Internet.

Orna Chait joined the IDI Group in November 2007 as the diamond industry’s Portal Manager. Holding a Masters Degree in Computer Technology from Bar-Ilan University, Ms. Chait was Manager of the Portal Unit at the Israel Export Institute, and a lecturer in Computer Science in the Informatics Department of Beit Berl College, as well as at the Center for Continuing Education at Tel Aviv University.
