About Water Jewels
Barbara Harris is an artist who creates tactile sculptural pieces of jewellery. Descended from a family of jewellers, who have been established in London since the late 1800s, Barbara has long been inspired by nature and natural gemstones.
Having lived for many years in the Orient and worked with a master carver, Barbara has developed a deep understanding of the qualities and properties of each particular stone.
This knowledge and passion have culminated in a philosophy of always buying natural raw gemstones which she then gently and thoughtfully cuts by submersion in water and then shapes using high powered water jets.
